Dedicated to improving the lives of children, the Trevor John Waugh MEF gives back in many ways...

1st Annual Patriot's Point Field Trip

Annual 5th Grade Field Trip to Patriots Point - USS Yorktown Naval and Maritime Museum in Charleston, South Carolina The Trevor John Waugh MEF funded the annual field trip for the entire 5th grade class at Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School in Aiken, SC.

Stacey Waugh has been an educator at OWES since 2006. She continuously looks for ways to fund/support educational opportunities for students in her community. Her school is located in a high poverty, rural area which lacks funding for field trips such as these. The 5th grade students had an amazing time on their trip in February of 2019.

Special thanks to John J Waugh and the many family and friends who helped fund this trip. Your generous donations afforded us to purchase t-shirts for the students as well as lunch for all of the students and parent chaperones/volunteers. The love Trevor had for his family and friends will continue to grow and reach children for years to come.

Children’s Hospital Donation

John Waugh heard an ad on the radio shortly after Trevor had passed away.   On February 14th, 2020 the Gulisano Children’s Hospital, a University of Rochester affiliate, hosted their annual Cares for Kids Radiothon fundraiser.   John thought this would be another great opportunity to honor Trevor’s legacy and give back to our community.  With your donations and support, we were able to provide funds to further groundbreaking research, purchase state-of-the-art spaces, and provide lifesaving care for children served at the Gulisano Children’s Hospital.

Sports Booster Club Brick Fundraiser
Trevor played many sports during high school. He truly loved being part of a team. He continued his love of sports throughout life by attending many Buffalo Bills football and Syracuse basketball games. Thanks to high school and lifelong friend, Marcye Bears, we were made aware of an annual fundraiser done by the HF-L Sports Booster Club. Each year they sell bricks that are custom engraved with messages that create a path from the school to the stadium. In honor of Trevor, we purchased a commemorative brick to help support our hometown high school and the current students.

Bananas About Books

During this time of distant learning, our foundation decided that the students of Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School needed fresh fruit and great books. With the help of Patrick and Natalie Carlisle, owners of Newberry Hall Catering Company, and your donations, we were able to purchase bananas to pass out during our distance learning packet pick up day. Thanks to Media Specialist Linda Lundeen, Literacy Coach, Nichole Yoch, and Principal, Davina Truitt for choosing the books, stamping the books, and helping to organize distribution of the books. Oakwood-Windsor Elementary serves 425 students and each student will receive three books to continue our mission to educate and instill a lifelong love of reading.

CoverWallet

Trevor Waugh worked with amazing colleagues at CoverWallet. He enjoyed making people laugh and feel welcomed. In honor of Trevor, Kristi Molisani and April Roland organized a Super Bowl Square fundraiser along with a chili cook off. Together they raised $1,400 for our foundation. We are so very thankful for the outpour of love and support from Trevor’s work family. They purchased an authentic New Era Field Turf swatch to pay tribute to Trev’s love of the Buffalo Bills. They also chose a lyric from his favorite group, the Beastie Boys to represent his love of life and those around him.

Thanks to everyone at CoverWallet. Your continued support is truly appreciated.
